Our schooling didn’t prepare us to feel confident in delivering supportive eating disorder care. It can be challenging to distinguish what our role is as the dietitian, given that eating disorders are intertwined with the emotional & psychological experience and food.
You are worried about saying the wrong thing. You aren’t sure how to approach tricky conversations, while remaining supportive, compassionate, and empathic.

Hi! I’m Shawna – so glad you are here :). I’m guessing you are here because you are searching for guidance, strategies, tools, and support to learn how to best support your client/patient who is affected by an eating disorder or disordered eating.

You are in the right place if you are a Registered Dietitian or RD2B that believes in better care for this vulnerable, yet rewarding population.

While these online courses are designed JUST for RDs, I encourage any healthcare provider to join. In these online courses, I will walk you through what to say to someone who is struggling, as I emphasize the role and importance of specialized counselling skills. We dive deep into Best Practices, nutrition therapy and the role of team support. I teach from a weight  and size-inclusive space and bring in principles of Intuitive Eating and HAES.

If you have questions about ED for RDs, email us! We would be thrilled to hear from you.
